International. The Belden Group, owner of Grass Valley, announced the acquisition of Snell Advance Media, SAM, a news that will undoubtedly generate changes in the global broadcast industry.

Although the terms of the business and the value of the transaction are not yet known, it transpired that the Belden Group plans to integrate SAM with Grass Valley and leave all the product lines under the name of the latter. Tim Shoulders will be the president and CEO of both companies after their union and its headquarters will continue to be in Montreal, Canada.

The Belden Group again surprised the market with these movements in the broadcast world, which are not new. It is recalled that in 2012 he acquired Miranda, and in 2015, after buying Grass Valley, he joined both companies under the Grass Valley brand.

On the SAM side, things are not different either. In 2014, Quantel acquired Snell and at the end of 2015 they made the name change as it is known until today Snell Advance Media, SAM.
