Mexico. Panasonic announced the arrival in Mexico of the compact camera AU-EVA1, ideal for on-location production due to its size and lightness and compatible with gimbal, Steadicam and even drones.

It is a light equipment (1.2 kg), but capable of capturing images and video with cinematographic quality, thanks to its Super-35 sensor of 5.7K resolution (5720 x 3016), which produces 17.25 million pixels; almost double the 8.8 million in an 4K DCI sensor (4096 x 2160).

The AU-EVA1 is an 5.7K EF mount camera with a Super-35 sensor, with ISO Native Dual technology - which extracts more information from each scene without degrading the image. It also has Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and the same colorimetry of the renowned VariCam system. When recording in 5.7K format, videos captured in other resolutions, such as 4K, UHD, FHD or HD, have greater detail and contrast, as well as more vivid and accurate colors.

The AU-EVA1 also includes an 3.5 LCD touchscreen with adjustable brightness, from which various camera functions can be controlled, including iris, ISO, white balance and direct access to the configuration menu. However, if the filmmakers prefer it, the camera can also be operated remotely through a special app for iOS and Android mobile devices.

For its part, a couple of recently released firmware updates further enhance the capabilities and functions of the AU-EVA1, by adding new intra-frame coding formats, as well as RAW data output, time-lapse recording, format HD 4 interlaced: 2: 2 and more. As for the available recording options, the EVA1 allows you to capture content at different speeds, including 59.94fps / 50fps for 4K / UHD, up to 120fps / 100fps in 2K / Full HD, and 240fps / 200fps (in compressed area).
