Peru. In order to guarantee the continuity of the broadcasting services throughout the country and to counteract the effects caused by the heavy rains that hit especially in rural areas, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) extended the deadline for submitting the request for renewal of the authorizations of radio and television stations of open signal in the districts declared in State of Emergency since December of the 2018 and April of the 2019.
The measure provides facilities to the holders of the authorizations. As of the date, they have six additional months to expire their permits to submit the renewal application, as long as the document has expired during the period of the declaration.
The supreme decree also extends for a period of 60 days the payment of the canon for use of the radioelectric spectrum of the broadcasting service corresponding to the period of the 2019 year to the holders of authorizations whose stations operate in the districts declared in a State of Emergency. This extension applies as of the expiration date of the term of the declaration.
Likewise, the standard extends the holders of authorizations of the broadcasting service with stations in districts declared in a State of Emergency by rains, between December of 2018 to April of 2019, the deadline for the presentation of the sworn declaration of gross income and the payment of the rate for concepts of the commercial exploitation of the broadcasting service corresponding to the period of the 2018 year. The extension is 60 days and applies from the expiration of the exceptional measure.
