Colombia. The National Television Authority, ANTV, through Resolution 0795 of the 28 of June of 2019, postponed the analog blackout for the country, which was scheduled for the December 31 of 2019, until the 31 of December of 2022.
According to what the entity said in that resolution, if the analog switch-off had been carried out on the date that was planned, between 1,75 and 1,95, millions of people could not continue to access the open television service.
The entity informed that in the previous process for the issuance of this Resolution, 7 received communications with comments on the project and supporting regulatory document. All were answered at the beginning of June.
The Resolution also states that the ANTV must define the General Emission Cessation Plan, which will contain the progressive scheme for the cessation of emission, the indicators and minimum levels to be achieved and a scorecard on which monitoring will be carried out through the execution of tools and statistical exercises carried out at least once a year. This plan must be published in the first semester of 2020.
